The application process will begin in December 2018.
Our school has grown to serve Kindergarten-Eighth grade. Each grade has two (2) classes of eighteen (18) children in each class. Our middle school serves students in 5th- 8th grades.
Icahn Charter School #2 provides a rigorous Core Knowledge curriculum beginning in Kindergarten. The school was created to enable its children to exceed the performance standards of the New York Stare Board of Regents. We are recognized as a high achieving school with NYS reading, mathematics, science and social studies scores well above the NYC average.
Our school schedule exceeds that of a conventional public school. The school day will begin 8:30 AM and ends at 3:45 PM .
Icahn Charter School #2 is a public school that has been granted a charter from the Charter Schools Institute of the State University of New York and the New York State Board of Regents. We are accountable to the Board of Regents and the Charter Schools Institute as well as our Board of Trustees for the academic achievement of our children. With class size limited to eighteen students and with two classes per grade, we will be better able to support our rigorous curriculum and work cooperatively with the families of our children to achieve high standards. Our school has continuously scored among the highest achieving in New York State.
Priority is given to children who live in District#11
Icahn Charter School #2 based on an open lottery system for all grades.
