LOTTERY APPLICATIONS 2023-2024

Families must fill out and submit a brief application, providing basis information about the student, to each charter school they are interested in attending. Applications must be submitted by April 1 each year. Student are admitted according to the number of seats available.

If a charter school receives more applications than it has seats available, then the school is required by law to run a randomized lottery to admit students. All student who submitted an application will automatically be entered in the admissions lottery. Applicants who names are not drawn in the lottery are placed on a waiting list and may be contacted as seats become available.

The last day to submit paper enrollment applications to the school is April 3, 2023.

The mission of Carl C. Icahn Charter School is to use the Core Knowledge curriculum, developed by E.D. Hirsch, to provide students with a rigorous academic program offered in an extended day/year setting. Students will graduate armed with the skills and knowledge to participate successfully in the most rigorous academic environments, and will have a sense of personal and community responsibility.

National Blue Ribbon

Hard work really does pay off! Our school is fortunate enough to share that we have been named a National Blue Ribbon School! This is a prestigious award given to schools who achieve academic excellence and close achievement gaps. Additionally, this is given to schools who create a safe and welcoming environment for their students. This year we had a big celebration to honor our school, which was held in Maestros with a carnival theme. Students were encouraged to circulate the room and play games to win prizes.
